He received his Ph.D. in Islamic Theology from the University of Marmara in Turkey and is the author of over thirty academic articles and encyclopedia entries on topics in Islam. During the last fourteen years, Shabbir has given several hundred lectures, locally, nationally and internationally to organizations interested in knowing more about diversity issues. She has been the subject of dozens of articles, both locally and nationally. In March 2005, then Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius appointed Shabbir to the REACH Health Care Foundation Community Advisory Committee, a $100 million foundation. Shabbir is also on the faculty at Park University teaching in the Masters of Health Care Leadership Program to include marketing and diversity in patient care delivery. She has been a lecturer at the Command and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth and Fort Belvoir, VA. Prior to forming her own company, Shabbir was the Vice President for Strategic Planning and Business Development at Carondelet Health, a Catholic health care system in Kansas City. She had been with the organization for over 18 years. In this capacity, Shabbir planned $40 million projects like the four story medical mall at Saint Joseph Health Center. She has a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Missouri- Kansas City. He considers himself to be a follower of the Prophet Muhammad (G-d’s Peace be upon him), to whom the Holy book Quran was revealed; and a student of the late Imam W.D. Mohammed (G-d’s Peace be upon him also). In the year 2001, Imam Salaam earned the honorary title of “El-Hajj” after completing the fifth pillar of the Islamic faith; which is “hajj” or pilgrimage to Mecca. Imam Salaam was presented with the "Merging Leadership Award" by the Heartland Chapter of the Muslim American Council after years of Interfaith work with Harmony; The Focalore Movement of the Catholic Church; participating in Interfaith Dialog with Leaders of various faiths; being a guest speaker and addressing over 25,000 people at the World Youth Day and Gen Fest in Rome, Italy; and speaking at over 60 Churches since the September 11th Tragedy. In 2004, Enchassi made a career move, turning his previous part-time volunteering activities into a full time commitment by becoming the founder and executive director of the Mercy Education Foundation – a multi-million dollar project creating the first accredited Islamic school of Oklahoma City. During that time, he also became the founder, imam and president of the Islamic Society of Greater Oklahoma City (ISGOC). In that role, he studied overseas at the Daawa University Institute and the University Institute for Islamic Studies in Lebanon, where he received his bachelors, masters and doctorate degree in Islamic Studies. Dr. Pandya has authored a book (2012), Muslim Women and Islamic Resurgence: Religion, Education, and Identity Politics in Bahrain, on Bahraini women and the ways in which globalization and modern education impacted their religious activities. Having carried out research in Turkey on several occasions, she is also the co-editor of a second published volume (2012), The Gülen Hizmet Movement and its Transnational Activities: Case Studies on Charitable Activism. Dr. Pandya has also published articles about the Hizmet movement and its relationship to the Kurdish community. Another forthcoming article analyzes the gendered dimensions of the "Yemen Spring" and the subsequent (2015-present) war in Yemen, with a focus on the role of religious groups.
