Description: https://www.onebillionrising.org/events/one-billion-rising-kc/ One Billion Rising KC is a free community arts-activism event that coincides with the One Billion Rising Events happening worldwide to speak out against violence towards women. Everyone of any gender, gender identity, or gender expression who wishes to engage with women's rights as human rights is welcome. This is a family friendly event. All ages are welcome; however due to the expected volume of participants, those under 16 should be accompanied by a responsible adult. Everyone remember to wear red and/or pink colored clothing! Participants can engage in three ways: 1. share this event with everyone you can, invite everyone you can, and plan on sharing your participation on social media 2.dancing with us in a flash mob. ( https://youtu.be/PMVF0mOE3rg https://youtu.be/kp0xQVx7QnE). This dance is designed to be powerfully simple and accessible for everyone to move with. You don't even have to practice if you don't want to because we will have dance-leaders there to follow along with! 3. standing as a 'living art piece' holding your personal art, banners, or signs about ending violence against women.
