Abilene’s 5 Star Arts Festival is a fun-filled weekend September 25-27 throughout downtown Abilene, Kan. Activities kick-off Friday at 6 p.m. with live music and family entertainment. Saturday morning includes a free pancake breakfast beginning at 7 a.m. Artists open their booths at 10 a.m. until 6 p.m., and again on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Taste of Abilene begins Saturday at 6 p.m. Check out their Facebook page.
For 23 years the UNplaza Art Fair has filled a unique niche in the Kansas City art scene. About 80 artisans are gearing up to do it again, Sept. 19-20. This event offers quality artwork at affordable prices, all created locally.
