Ray Krebs, who starts off as a ranch hand at the Ewing family’s South Fork ranch, turns out to be the illegitimate son of Jock Ewing, the patriarch of the Texas oil and cattle family. According to the back story on Krebs, he was born in Emporia, Kan., on October 19, 1945 - the love child of Jock Ewing and an army nurse Jock knew during World War II.
