Conversations

I'm excited to announce that I'm beginning a series of blog posts called Conversations. This blog will share conversations spotlighting area and regional arts. I'll also be sharing my love of books through conversations with authors of fiction and non-fiction works.

I'll start posting interviews to the blog in June. The topics will be wide ranging. For example, we'll learn about the history and mission of the Lied Center and Theatre Lawrence as part of our arts focus. Upcoming non-fiction book interviews will include a look at mental health care, drug enforcement, leadership, trees, and the legacy of Bobby Kennedy. In the world of fiction, I'll talk with David Baldacci about his latest action novel and Karl Hiaasen about his humorous stories set in Florida. That's just a taste, there will be many more to come over time.

Beginning in July, two interviews from the blog will air each week on KPR2 in a half-hour program version of Conversations. The program will air on Sunday mornings at 6 am beginning July 2nd.  KPR2 is heard at 96.1 FM in Lawrence and 97.9 FM in Manhattan. Not an early riser? Don't worry, all of the interviews will also be posted on the blog. In fact, the interviews will usually appear on the blog first and be broadcast later.

I hope you'll join me for Conversations on-line, on our smartphone app, or on-air.
