Bad Science at Cinema a Go-Go, February 7

Mad scientists, crawling hands and disembodied heads take over our next Cinema a Go-Go on Friday, February 7, at Liberty Hall.

Our big double feature includes The Crawling Hand (1963), a memorably awful science fiction thriller about the hand of an astronaut who dies in space. Apparently possessed by an alien life form(?), the crawling hand falls to Earth and promptly starts strangling people left and right.

The Crawling Hand features a great cast of familiar faces - Peter Breck (TV's The Big Valley), Alan Hale (the skipper from Gilligan's Island), Allison Hayes (the 50 Foot Woman herself) and Tristram Coffin (the Rocket Man of Republic serial fame).

Our second feature is The Brain That Wouldn't Die (1962), a no-budget shocker about a sinister surgeon who develops a means of keeping human body parts alive.

When the surgeon's fiancee is decapitated in an auto accident, Dr. Bill Cortner keeps her head alive in his laboratory. But the lovely Jan wants no part of it and begins telepathic communication with another of Dr. Bill's science projects - a hideous mutant who's kept prisoner in the lab.

Doors open at 6 p.m. Show starts at 7 p.m. General Admission tickets are $10 and are available for purchase at the  Liberty Hall box office.

Thank you to our event sponsor, Dr. Stephen Chronister, DDS, of  Healing Smiles of Topeka.
