Conversations: Peter Zazzali, Kansas Repertory Theatre presents "The Legend of Georgia McBride"

In The Legend of Georgia McBride, sometimes learning to be a man requires learning to be a really exquisite woman. Peter Zazzali is directing Kansas Repertory Theatre’s production of The Legend of Georgia McBride. On this edition of Conversations, Zazzali joins us to talk about the production which, will be onstage at the Crafton-Preyer Theatre at KU in July.

Brendan Kiely's latest novel explores the insidious nature of tradition at a prestigious boarding school. Kiely is a New York Times bestselling author whose previous books include All American Boys, The Last True Love Story and The Gospel of Winter. On this edition of Conversations, he joins us to talk about his latest novel, Tradition.

Conversations: Missy Koonce, Kansas Repertory Theatre presents "La Cage aux Folles"

On this edition of Conversations, Missy Koonce joins us to talk about the Kansas Repertory Theater production of La Cage aux Folles. Koonce is directing the production, which opens on July 13 at the Crafton-Preyer Theatre in Murphy Hall on the KU campus. She says her version of the musical will be scaled down and a bit more gritty to embrace the honesty of the situation, but don't worry, she's not forsaking the "glam."

Conversations: Ellen Meacham, "Delta Epiphany - Robert F. Kennedy in Mississippi"

Remembering RFK. This week marks the 50th anniversary of Robert F. Kennedy's death. On April 10, 1967, RFK visited the Mississippi Delta and it had a profound impact on him. On this edition of Conversations, Ellen Meacham joins us to talk about her book, Delta Epiphany: Robert F. Kennedy in Mississippi. Meacham has been a journalist for more than 20 years. Her work has appeared in the New York Times and many other places.

Conversations: Larry Tye, "Bobby Kennedy: The Making of a Liberal Icon"

Remembering RFK. Robert F. Kennedy died 50 years ago today, June 6, 1968. To commemorate his passing, on this edition of Conversations, a reissue of my conversation with Larry Tye about his book Bobby Kennedy: The Making of a Liberal Icon. Larry Tye is a former award-winning journalist at The Boston Globe. He is the author of the New York Times bestseller Satchel as well as several other books.
