This week's KPR Presents features former U.S. Poet Laureate and Pulitzer Prize-winner Ted Kooser, from a reading sponsored by the University of Kansas Libraries. We'll also hear the collaborative efforts of Kansas Poet Laureate Caryn Mirriam-Goldberg and singer-songwriter Kelley Hunt, in a reading performed at the Lawrence Public Library.

Kansas Chautauqua   Date: June 19, 2008
   Long days, hot weather and the sound of cicadas...that means it's summertime in Kansas, and that means it's time for Chautauqua, the annual gathering which is a tradition on the Great Plains. KPR's Laura Lorson talked with Julie Mulvihill, the executive director of the Kansas Humanities Council, about this year's event, and about the history of Chautauqua.
