This week's KPR Presents features former U.S. Poet Laureate and Pulitzer Prize-winner Ted Kooser, from a reading sponsored by the University of Kansas Libraries. We'll also hear the collaborative efforts of Kansas Poet Laureate Caryn Mirriam-Goldberg and singer-songwriter Kelley Hunt, in a reading performed at the Lawrence Public Library.

   As public concern about global climate change grows in Kansas, many people are looking for ways to reduce their energy consumption. In Johnson County, local officials are focusing on how they design new office buildings. One building in particular is getting recognition for its environmentally-friendly design. It was also the backdrop for a recent event that drew attention to the issue of global warming. Kansas Public Radio’s Peter Hancock has more on that story.
