This week's KPR Presents features former U.S. Poet Laureate and Pulitzer Prize-winner Ted Kooser, from a reading sponsored by the University of Kansas Libraries. We'll also hear the collaborative efforts of Kansas Poet Laureate Caryn Mirriam-Goldberg and singer-songwriter Kelley Hunt, in a reading performed at the Lawrence Public Library.

Remembering Sam Crumbine, a Titan of Public Health   Date: December 29, 2009
   A century ago, the state of Kansas struck a major blow for public health when it banned the common drinking cup from public places. On the anniversary of that official act, Commentator William Jennings Bryan Oleander (OH-lee-an-der) says it's only fitting to pay tribute to the man responsible.
