This week's KPR Presents features former U.S. Poet Laureate and Pulitzer Prize-winner Ted Kooser, from a reading sponsored by the University of Kansas Libraries. We'll also hear the collaborative efforts of Kansas Poet Laureate Caryn Mirriam-Goldberg and singer-songwriter Kelley Hunt, in a reading performed at the Lawrence Public Library.

Seldom Seen: A Journey Into the Great Plains   Date: December 16, 2009
   Lots of people daydream about walking away from their homes and their jobs in search of adventure...but author Patrick Dobson actually did it. In May of 1995, Dobson began a walk of more than 1400 miles, from Kansas City to Helena, Montana. He tells the story of his journey in a new book called "Seldom Seen: A Journey Into the Great Plains." He talked with KPR's Laura Lorson about what he learned, and why he started his journey in the first place.
