| Item Listing | Warhol Exhibition Puts the Spotlight on Celebrity Date: August 14, 2009 Tomorrow (SAT), the Spencer Museum of Art is opening an exhibition of photographs taken by Andy Warhol. It includes portraits of artists, athletes, singers and others Warhol found interesting. Susan Earle (ERL) is the curator of European and American Art at the Spencer, and she says that Warhol not only helped create the modern notion of celebrity, he became an important part of the process himself.

The exhibition, called "Big Shots: Andy Warhol, Celebrity Culture and the 1980s, " opens this weekend and will be on display at the Spencer Museum of Art at KU through December 13th. For more information, go online to spencerart.ku.edu.
