| Item Listing | China Floods Date: October 25, 2005 A delegation from the state of Kansas is on a week-long trade mission to China. Governor Kathleen Sebelius and more than 40 Kansas buisness leaders are there to dedicate the state's new trade office in Beijing. While they're in China, the group is expected to meet with China's education minister and Chinese aviation officials. Commentator John Richard Schrock has visited China many times, and has been struck by the differences in the way Chinese and Americans think about the role of the government. He says that Chinese citizens have a far different way of thinking about their communities. That difference was thrown into sharp relief when he witnessed the American response to the recent flooding disasters caused by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.
