China's One-Child Policy Date: September 2, 2008
With more than 1.3 billion people, China remains the world's most populous country. The government's efforts to control population growth by limiting couples to one child continue to draw criticism in the United States and elsewhere. But Commentator John Richard Schrock says those critics should also consider what China would be like today had the government not taken steps to curb its population.
