As part of KPR's series on China, Commentator John Richard Schrock says he's seen a growing interest in religion during his frequent trips to that country. But Schrock says the Chinese government also remains committed to protecting its more traditional concept of religious freedom: the freedom from religion.

Commentator John Richard Schrock is a professor of biology education at Emporia State University. Since the mid 1970s, Schrock has spent several weeks a year teaching and lecturing in China.
