DuoSolo: Mary Fukushima and Michael Kirkendoll

Mary Fukushima (flute) and Michael Kirkendoll (piano) dazzled us during their live studio performance of very modern solo and duo works. Works performed include a solo flute piece Zoom Tube by Ian Clarke, with a nod toward Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull, Moody's Blues by David Rakowski, an homage to Jerry Lee Lewis and Marinera, part of a larger work by Gabriela Frank.DuoSolo WebsiteThe artist(s): Mary Fukushima, flute Michael Kirkendoll, pianoEngineer(s): Jason Slote and Chubby Smith

Allegresse

In their debut public performance, Allegresse plays selections promoting their upcoming concert at Regnier Hall on the KU Edwards Campus. Pieces performed live on KPR include Madeline Dring's Trio for Flute, Oboe and Piano, Leo Delibes' Flower Duet from Lakme, a trio sonata by Quantz, a piece by 20th century composer Jean Michel Damase and a virtuosic Guillaume Tell adaptation which left us with our mouths agape.
