Tenor Benjamin Matis joined KU piano division chair Jack Winerock to preview their April 2
concert at the Lawrence Jewish Community Congregation. Matis is a longtime cantor and
spoke with Michael Keelan about the various traditions of the music he performed, as well
as Matis' book project on the history of Jewish people in Kansas.
