Wichita Mayor Reacts to Coleman Moving Departments to Denver

The city of Wichita is evaluating industrial revenue bonds and tax exemptions for the Coleman Company. Coleman has announced a plan to move key executives to Denver and intends to build a leadership center there. Mayor Carl Brewer says he just officially learned of that move.

Company officials say they’re moving a few departments to Colorado to better compete with other outdoor companies based in Denver. Coleman Company president and CEO, Robert Marcovitch, says more than 800 employees will remain in Wichita, where the company was founded in 1901.
