Warbirds & Legends Show Features Aircraft, Stories

Rare and unusual aircraft from the 1930s and '40s will be on display at Forbes Field in Topeka, beginning tomorrow (FRI). The "Warbirds and Legends" show includes talks from veterans and airplane collectors in addition to exhibition flights of many of the aircraft. Dan Gryder is one of the organizers of the show, and says that having this many vintage aircraft in one place is an unusual event:

"Warbirds and Legends" runs from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. tomorrow (FRI) through Sunday. Tickets are available at the gate and online, but veterans and active military members will be admitted free. For more information, visit warbirdsandlegends.org.

Vintage Airplanes Going on Display in Topeka

A vintage air show kicks off tomorrow (FRI) at Forbes Field in Topeka. Aircraft from the 1930s and '40s will be on view through Sunday. The show also features airplane rides, airplane tours and stories from pilots, military veterans and collectors. Dan Gryder is one of the organizers of the "Warbirds and Legends" display. He says they chose Topeka as the site for the one-of-a-kind show because of its central location, and because of the unique advantages of Forbes Field:
