Wages Rising Faster Than Inflation, According to DOL

Paychecks in Kansas are growing, according to the U.S. Department of Labor. Jacqueline Midkiff, with the department's office in Kansas City, says one particular industry is outpacing others.

Midkiff says across the board through the Midwest, wages were up 1.9 percent over this time last year, while inflation grew at 1.4 for the same time period.

Wages are on the uptick in Kansas. Kansas workers are making more money than they did last year, according to the US Department of Labor. Jacqueline Midkiff is with the department’s office in Kansas City. She says wages are also rising faster than inflation.

Midkiff says the aircraft industry got the highest bump, with an average overall increase or more than 2.5 percent.
