Volunteers Sought for Topeka Railroad Festival

The fifth annual Topeka Railroad Festival is scheduled for next month, but organizers are saying they need volunteers right now. Bette Allen is the festival's executive director.

Allen says those who would like to volunteer can visit greatoverlandstation.com to fill out an application. The festival will take place on August 18th.

Railroad Festival Relies on Assistance from Volunteers

It's not scheduled to begin until next month, but organizers are already looking for volunteers to help with the 5th annual Topeka Railroad Festival. They're looking for people to help with ticket sales, vendors and to work in the children's area. Executive director Bette Allen says volunteers are an indispensible part of the event.

Allen says that for more information on becoming a volunteer for the August 18th festival, call the Great Overland Station in Topeka or go online to www.greatoverlandstation.com.
