U.S. Secretary of Education Arne (Arnie) Duncan is coming to Kansas this week. He has two stops in the state tomorrow (TUE). Duncan will be holding a town hall meeting at Emporia State University. He’ll also deliver a speech in Topeka. KPR's Stephen Koranda has more.

Duncan will make a stop in Topeka at the Brown v. Board of Education historic site on Tuesday. Dave Smith is superintendent there. He says Duncan is on a cross-country tour of places with connections to public education.
“Each year he tries to make a trip across the country, both to feel the pulse of the nation and to see what’s going on in public education, but also to highlight successes that are happening. Topeka and Kansas has its fair share of successes.”
At noon on Tuesday, Duncan will make what Smith calls a “policy” speech in Topeka, but few details are available. Later in the day, Duncan will hold a town hall meeting in Emporia before heading to the Kansas City area.
