Treasurer's Office Trouble Likely Related to Title Glitch

The long wait times at treasurers' offices throughout the state of Kansas appear to be related to some computer glitches in processing car titles. Shawnee County Treasurer Larry Mah says they've had to send some people to the Docking Building for title work, so his office could focus on getting tag renewals processed. However, Mah says they're making progress. The new system installed bout a year ago has been plagued with technical problems. The Department of Revenue says that while the system slowed down again recently, it's running much faster now than when it was first installed.
