The Topeka Fire Department will host its 2012 open house on Saturday, October 6. Topeka fire investigator Michael Martin says they're planning events that all members of the family can enjoy.
The open house will be held at the Topeka fire academy at 324 SE Jefferson. There will be opportunities to participate in some fire safety demonstrations, have photos taken in actual firefighting gear and to spray water from a real fire hose. Hot dogs, chips and drinks will be available free of charge, provided by the International Association of Firefighters, local 83. For more information, visit the Topeka Fire Department's website.
