Today is the deadline for Kansas voters who want to change political parties in time for the August primary election. State law says voters can’t switch party affiliation for the primary after today but the law only applies to voters who already have listed a party affiliation on their registration and want to change. Unaffiliated voters can wait and choose a party affiliation on the day of the primary election. Brian Caskey, with the Secretary of State's office says today is the deadline but you don't have to show up at your county clerk's office, you can also can change your affiliation by mail.
You can find the application online at K-S-S-O-S dot org.or at your local county election office.
