Writers to Discuss "Tales of Two Americas" at Lawrence Public Library

A conversation is scheduled for tonight (WED) at the Lawrence Public Library, centered on a collection of essays called "Tales of Two Americas."  The collection showcases journalistic and literary responses to inequality, with topics including immigration, gender, and racial discrimination. Journalist Sarah Smarsh, who has work included in the book, will be on hand to talk about her interest in the subject matter and issues of social justice. 


Journalist Sarah Smarsh is a Kansas native and a freelance writer whose work has appeared in The New Yorker, The Guardian, McSweeney's and more. She, John Freeman and Whitney Terrell will host a conversation about social issues and journalism tonight (WED) at the Lawrence Public Library auditorium, beginning at 7 o'clock.
