State Inks $500 Million Wheat Sale to Taiwan

State officials have signed a deal to sell a half-billion dollars worth of Kansas wheat to Taiwan. Representatives from Kansas and Taiwan signed the two-year deal today (THUR) during a ceremony at the Statehouse. Kansas Wheat Commissioner Jay Armstrong had a simple message for the Taiwanese delegation.

Armstrong says Kansas and Taiwan have been signing wheat trade deals for more than 30 years. This sale will amount to more than 60 million bushels.

Stephen Koranda is KPR's Statehouse reporter.
