Social Service Agency Launches Adoption Campaign

State officials are launching an adoption marketing campaign. One of the goals is to find adoptive homes for more than 400 hard-to-place children now in state care. Department of Social and Rehabilitation Services Secretary Rob Siedlecki (SIDE-LECK-EE) says finding families to adopt these children can be challenging because they are often older. Many also suffer from emotional problems or have disabilities.

At a news conference yesterday (MON), Siedlecki said the agency is
re-purposing a $300,000 federal grant to pay for the marketing campaign. He said people who adopt children through the state may be eligible for subsidies. More information on the state adoption program is available at Adopt Kids - Dot - org.
