The Shawnee County Election Office is holding a series of public meetings to seek public input on what features voters would like to see in new voting equipment the county is hoping to soon have installed. Commissioner of Elections, Andrew Howell says the elections office has its own ideas for improvements. “One of the things we hope to do, from an office perspective, is to make sure that we can report results more quickly than we’ve been able to in the past.” Howell says. The state’s four largest counties, Shawnee, Johnson, Wyandotte and Sedgwick have issued a joint request for proposals from voting equipment vendors.
