The state of Kansas appears to be headed for a showdown over school funding. The Kansas Supreme Court ordered state lawmakers to come up with a new school finance plan. They did. But the high court has yet to review the plan and lawmakers are set to leave town before that happens. To learn more, KPR's J. Schafer spoke to Kansas Statehouse reporters Stephen Koranda and Jim McLean for this installment of "In Session: News from the Kansas Statehouse."

That's Stephen Koranda, KPR's Statehouse Bureau Chief, and Jim McLean, with the KHI News Service. They were speaking with KPR's J. Schafer. Kansas lawmakers return to Topeka on April 27 to wrap up the 2016 session. The Kansas Supreme Court will review the new school finance plan on May 10. You'll find this edition of "In Session: News from the Kansas Statehouse" on the KPR website.
