Supporters of Medicaid expansion in Kansas are mounting an intense lobbying campaign, hoping to gather enough votes to override Governor Sam Brownback’s veto.

On Wednesday, a bill expanding Medicaid eligibility in Kansas arrived on Governor Sam Brownback’s desk. Thursday morning, the governor promptly vetoed it. Reporter Jim McLean and editor Amy Jeffries of the Kansas News Service discuss where the issue stands now... and what might happen next.
