Report Says KS Schools Have $500 Million in Reserves

A law that took effect in July gives school districts the option to spend some reserve funds to help make up for a reduction in state aid. A report released this week by the Kansas Policy Institute says school districts have millions of dollars in reserve funds that could be spent in the classroom. As KPR’s Stephen Koranda tells us, the funds are for things like special education and bilingual education.
