Minister and Pilot Klled in Plane Crash Near Wichita

DERBY, Kan. (AP) — Authorities say a traveling California minister and his pilot are dead after a small plane crashed soon after taking off from a Kansas airport. Sedgwick County Sheriff Jeff Easter identified the victims as 72-year-old Edward Dufresne and the pilot, 49-year-old Mitchell Morgan. Their twin-engine Cessna crashed around 10:15 a.m. yesterday (FRI) in a field about 20 miles southeast of Wichita's Mid-Continent Airport.

Former KS Attorney General Has License Suspended

TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) — The Kansas Supreme Court has suspended the law license of fromer state Attorney General Phill Kline. The high court says Kline used unethical tactics during his investiagions of abortion providers. The former attorney general and Johnson County District Attorney now teaches at Liberty University in Virginia.

KU School of Business Holds Groundbreaking for New Facility

Lawrence, Kan. (KPR) — Rain forced the groundbreaking for the new University of Kansas Business School indoors, but it couldn't dampen the enthusiasm at yesterday's (FRI) event.  Governor Sam Brownback joined Chancellor Bernadette Gray-Little, Dean Neeli Bendapudi, alumni and donors at the University of Kanas Lied Center for the ceremonial event. The $65.7 million dollar structure will be the biggest privately-funded building in KU history. It is expected to be completed fcor the 2015-16 academic year.

Wichita Chiropractor Accused of Fraud

WICHITA, Kan. (AP) — A Wichita chiropractor has been charged with fraud in a $1.3 million health care scheme. The U.S. attorney's office says 32-year-old Jeffrey Fenn of Wichita, surrendered his license on yesterday (FRI), the same day a federal indictment was unsealed.
