Pushing the Limits of Irrigation in Western KS

In western Kansas, many farmers can’t just look to the skies for water to nourish their crops. They also dig down to the Ogallala (OH-guh-la-la) Aquifer to supplement Mother Nature. In the drought of 2011 though, irrigation was pushed to the limit. Harvest Public Media’s Eric Durban reports the drought has forced farmers to re-evaluate how they use water, and where they’re getting it from.
