Public Hearing Thursday on Westar Rate Increase

The Kansas Corporation Commission is holding a public hearing tomorrow (THUR) evening on a proposed rate increase of nearly 2 percent for Westar Energy customers. The proposal would also shift more electricity costs from businesses to residential customers Jesse Borjon (BORE-john), with the KCC, says the hearing will start with an informational presentation, followed by public comments.

Kansans who want to testify should go to the KCC headquarters in Topeka or one of the satellite locations in Salina, Pittsburg and Hutchinson. There’s more information on how to submit comments or written testimony available on the KCC website.
