The multi-state Powerball lottery jackpot has rolled 22 times since it was hit on May 7. Tonight (WED) is the next drawing, with an estimated top prize of $422 million. Lucky jackpot winners can choose to receive the Powerball jackpot in 30 graduated payments over 29 years, or take their winnings in one cash payment. If the winner chooses the single cash option, he or she will receive a single cash payment, minus taxes. The jackpot cash option for tonight's (WED) drawing is $291 million. With that kind of dough, you could do a lot of things. You could even choose to become the largest donor in the history of Kansas Public Radio!

J. Schafer is the News Director of Kansas Public Radio. He’s also the Managing Editor of the Kansas Public Radio Network, which provides news and information to other public radio stations in Kansas and Missouri.
