Officials Urge Kansans to Prepare for Disasters

September is Emergency Preparedness Month in Kansas. As Kansans remember the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, they should think if they’re prepared for disasters. That’s what Governor Sam Brownback told a group of reporters gathered at the Statehouse.


Today (MON), emergency responders are gathering at the state fair in Hutchinson to spread the word on how to prepare for both natural and man-made disasters.The Adjutant General’s Department says Kansans should put together an emergency kit that includes enough food and water for three days, a first aid kit and other essentials.
