NWS Urges Preparations for Winter Weather

Today (WED) has been designated Winter Weather Awareness Day by the National Weather Service. It's designed to help remind everyone of the risks associated with winter weather, especially when driving. Kris Craven is a meteorologist with the NWS in Topeka, and says that some of the greatest hazards at ANY time of year come from driving on snow or ice-covered roadways.

You can see the official winter weather forecast online at NOAA.gov...just type "winter outlook" in the search bar.

Stephen Koranda is KPR's Statehouse reporter.
