Nurse Midwives Seek Independent Practice Authority in Kansas

Prompted in part by doctor shortages, mid-level providers like nurse practitioners are demanding changes in state licensing laws. Changes that would allow them to expand their practices. In Kansas, certified nurse midwives are among those pushing for such changes. And as Jim McLean of the KHI News Service reports, they may be pushing at just the right time.
