New KS Food Stamp Policy Causes Kids to Lose Aid

Last October, thousands of Kansas children became ineligible for food stamp benefits. Others had their benefits drastically reduced. That's because SRS changed the way it calculates eligibility for the program. Commentator Mary Sanchez says the change is controversial because it tangles up three issues that are each complicated in their own way: politics, economics and immigration.
