New Book Takes Fresh Look at the "Last Indian Raid in KS"

Tonight (WED), at the Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library... two Kansas authors will discuss their new book, titled: "The Northern Cheyenne Exodus in History and Memory." You might not know it by the title... but as Commentator Rex Buchanan explains, the subject matter in this book will be familiar to many, especially those who grew up in western Kansas.

Commentator Rex Buchanan is the Interim Director of the Kansas Geological Survey at the University of Kansas. He's also a regular contributor to Kansas Public Radio's Morning Edition. "The Northern Cheyenne Exodus in History and Memory" will be the topic of discussion tonight (WED) at the Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library. The co-authors of the book - James Leiker and Ramon Powers - will be on hand, begining at 7 p.m., in Marvin Auditorium. Leiker and Powers are both scholars and historians.
