Tomorrow (WED) is Veterans Day and parades and commemorations are planned throughout the area. But there is possibly no more appropriate place to honor our country's veterans than at the National World War One Museum and Memorial in Kansas City. Veterans Day was originally known as Armistice Day and marked the end of hostilities in WWI. KPR's Tom Parkinson spoke with Mike Vietti of the National WWI Museum about some of the special events planned for tomorrow when admission to the museum will be free for everyone throughout the day.

Mike Vietti is the Marketing & Communications Manager for the National WWI Museum and Memorial in Kansas City. The museum opens at 9 tomorrow morning (WED), and admission is free to the public all day. A ceremony featuring Congressman Emanuel Cleaver II, Kansas City Mayor Sly James and Missouri Secretary of State Jason Kander is planned for 10 a.m., and other special events are scheduled throughout the day.
