My Farm Roots (#9): Brandon Fahrmeier

Brandon Fahrmeier and his brother Bret Fahrmeier farm in Lexington, Mo., on land that has been in their family since the 1940s. (Photo by Jeremy Bernfeld / Harvest Public Media)It’s time now for My Farm Roots, a series from Harvest Public Media in which we hear Americans’ stories and memories of rural life. Because when you hail from farm country... roots run deep. Brandon Fahrmeier had a nice job as a sales rep in Ohio for a large company. He and his wife had a nice suburban home. Then they had kids. The Fahrmeiers decided they wanted their two daughters to grow up as they had, so a decade ago they packed up and moved back to the family farm in Missouri. They grow vegetables and have opened a winery.  And their kids are growing, just like the farm.
