It’s time now for " My Farm Roots," a series from Harvest Public Media in which we hear Americans’ stories and memories of rural life. Because when you hail from farm country, roots run deep. In today's installment, we hear from Nolan Strawder. He's a member of the National Grange, the oldest agricultural organization in the country. The group was formed after the Civil War to champion farmers rights. The Grange has lost a little of its luster and popularity since its early days – kind of like the old farm house Strawder is now fixing up. But he hopes to put his mark on both. |
