More than 1,000 Rally at KS Statehouse Against Abortion

More than 1,000 people gathered at the Kansas Statehouse to celebrate life... and protest abortion. They rallied on the anniversary of the Supreme Court ruling that legalized abortion. KPR's Stephen Koranda has more on yesterday's (TUE) event... and on what abortion-related legislation could come up this session.

(VERSION 2)

More than 1,000 advocates gathered for an annual anti-abortion rally at the Kansas Statehouse today (TUE). The crowd heard from speakers including Governor Sam Brownback.

Kathy Ostrowski, with the group Kansans for Life, says they’ll pursue some bills that didn’t pass both chambers last session, and they’ll push for changing the way judges are selected. She says they’ll continue to work for incremental changes to abortion regulations, instead of an all-out ban on the procedure.
