Midwest Farmers Hope for Improved Infrastructure to Transport Product

Harvest Public Media is a reporting project specializing in agricultural and rural issues throughout the Midwest.

As the annual wheat harvest gets underway, growers in Kansas and throughout the Midwest turn their attention to getting the grain to market. President Trump is focusing attention this week on the need to improve the nation’s roads, bridges, and inland water transportation systems. Harvest Public Media’s Amy Mayer says Kansas farmers are among those hoping to benefit from new federal attention to infrastructure.

Harvest Public Media is a reporting collaboration focused on issues of food, fuel and field. Harvest covers agriculture-related topics through a network of reporters and partner stations throughout the Midwest.
