A public meeting in Emporia this (WED) afternoon will highlight concerns over federal cuts to the Central States Pension Fund. Around 470,000 people risk losing their retirement funds due to sweeping cuts made to the pension fund. Ray Loomis, who worked for Roberts Dairy in Topeka, helped organize the meeting. He says the cuts could have a devastating effect on workers who spent a lifetime paying into the fund out of each paycheck.

The meeting on the Central States Pension Fund is set for this afternoon at the V-F-W hall in Emporia.
