Supporters of a soldier accused of leaking classified federal documents will be rallying in Leavenworth tomorrow (SAT). Bradley Manning is being held at Fort Leavenworth. He's accused of providing hundreds of thousands of documents to the group Wikileaks. They include diplomatic cables and video of an airstrike in Iraq that killed two journalists. Jeff Paterson is with the Bradley Manning Support Network. He says Manning should be protected as a whistleblower, and likens him to Daniel Ellsberg, who released classified documents on the Vietnam War.
Paterson hopes the rally will urge officials to drop all charges against Manning. The military transferred Manning to the prison at Fort Leavenworth earlier this year.
