In the eight years since the Lawrence High School film program founded the Focus Film Festival, it's grown into the premiere competition for student-filmmakers in northeast Kansas. The Focus Film Festival is an annual moviemaking competition organized, produced, and run by the film students at Lawrence High School. The event has become a way for young filmmakers from all around northeast Kansas to speak to the community at large about what's important in modern teenage life.
