KU Women Make Sweet 16; K-State Women Win Too!

KU Women Advance to Sweet 16 for 2nd Year in a Row

BOULDER, Colo. (AP) — The University of Kansas women's basketball team has advanced to the "Sweet 16" for the second year in a row. KU Senior Monica Engelman scored a career-high 27 points as the Jayhawks upset fourth-seeded South Carolina 75-to-69 last (MON) night. The Jayhawks have bceome just the second No. 12 seed to advance to the round of 16 in the NCAA tournament. Angel Goodrich racked-up 20 points for KU, which is now 20-and-13 on the season. Kansas lost seven of its last 11 games before the NCAA tournament, but now... they're moving on to Norfolk, Virginia, where they'll face the winner of today's (TUE) game between Notre Dame and Iowa.

K-State Women Continue to Win in WNIT

Kansas State continues to win games in the postseason. The Wildcat women defeated Illinois State 57-to-48 Monday in the second round of the WNIT. Senior Brittany Chambers led K-State with 28 points at Bramlage Coliseum. Next up for the Cats: a Thursday night game against Ball State in Manhattan. Tip-off 7 p.m.
